Volunteer needed to do a very precise but important task: to go on the CAFCASS ‘Family Forum.’
This is a sounding board for CAFCASS policy makers. It consists of people with direct – usually personal or family - experience of the relevant issues. Those with ‘live’ or likely future use of CAFCASS services are excluded.
The task would be to improve their handling of international removal cases. They do not currently explore these sufficiently. Especially where the ‘left behind’ parent may face problems over ‘contact’ in the proposed destination country.
It would be to take over the baton from Sue Hughes who has engaged the interest of CAFCASS but is now retiring from the Forum. It could lead further – for example improving Family Court handling of such cases.
If interested, please contact Joel Lindop, our lead on such issues, at Joel.Lindop.vol@fnf.org.uk or admin@fnf.org.uk.
We do not have ‘nomination rights’ – that is up to CAFCASS - but can promise they will give serious attention.
