AGM Date

Reserve The Date; Saturday 4th November. Not yet final, but highly probable. Our annual conference and annual general meeting. Somewhere in Manchester, to counter the perception that we are too London based.

Conference theme, highly likely, ‘Why both parents matter’ with a stress on the evidence of the benefits to children of shared parenting. So that when we go back home, we know this evidence to promote it.

We are looking for sponsors and people and organisations who may want to gain credit for supporting our cause. These are always best got via personal contacts, so if you have any leads, please contact admin@fnf.org.uk

The AGM will include a motion, supported by trustees, which needs a 2/3 majority to change our name to Both Parents Matter. Discussions with people we need to influence, such as CAFCASS, the judiciary and most allies indicate warm support. Among our own people, there are some people who feel that this distracts from the fact that it is fathers whom children are prevented from being with. They seem, however, outnumbered by those who want it to be clear that we are not a father’s rights outfit. We are primarily an agent for the rights of children, half of them, of course, girls.
