George Eustace- John Baker's commentary- The Bad

George Eustice, described as a Senior Conservative MP' and former minister for the Environment has deplored the lack of support for 'stay at home mothers'. LINK

A provocation for radical feminists but a stab to the heart for fathers who can’t see their children.

Feminist Rhiannon Lucy Cosslett, Guardian columnist comes back at him in the next day’s paper with a jaundiced view of dads who she claims refuse parenting opportunities with their children, calling it “weaponised incompetence” LINK. It makes you wonder which planet these people live on.

Our charity is not in the business of telling families how to organise their lives.

But we are in the business of offering evidence-based advice on what is best for children following separation or divorce.

The evidence is overwhelming that the full and permanent involvement of both parents and their wider families, is what is best for children.

It also better reflects modern values. Both mothers and fathers want is a family/work/life balance that meets the needs of their children first.

The fact is 'traditional' family life accepted the need for this balance. Before the industrial phase in our economic development, these divisions between the role of mothers and fathers in family life were meaningless.
